ABN & NZBN Verifier Onboarding Guide
Get up and running with the Vanillah ABN and NZBN Verifier integrations for HubSpot. The setup is the same for both apps, so this guide covers the install steps, the properties that are created, and how the verification runs once you are live.
Getting started
- 1
Register or sign in
Create an account or sign into the Vanillah app platform. app.vanillah.io
- 2
Open the verifier app and click install
Open the ABN Verifier (or NZBN Verifier) app inside the platform and start the install.
- 3
Connect your HubSpot account
Install the integration on the HubSpot account you want it connected to.
- 4
Confirm the trial and install
Make sure your free trial is active and the app shows as installed on HubSpot.
- 5
Check the properties on the company record
Confirm the verifier properties are installed and visible on the company record.
- 6
Run a lookup
Search for an ABN or NZBN, or update the ABN / NZBN Number property on a company record to trigger a lookup.
- 7
Review the result
Check the properties populated. The sidebar shows a success or failure for the integration, and a timeline event records the result.

Properties and groups
When the verifier is installed, a set of properties and a dedicated property group are created in HubSpot automatically. These properties store the data retrieved from the relevant business register (the Australian Business Register for ABN, the New Zealand Business Number register for NZBN) and keep your records up to date with verified information.
These properties must exist on any object where the verifier is used. Whenever the ABN or NZBN Number property is updated, the integration automatically triggers a lookup. If a valid result is found, the matching properties are populated with the retrieved data.
How it works
- 1.Installation: the property group is created and the properties are added to the company object in HubSpot.
- 2.Update trigger: any time the ABN or NZBN Number is updated on an object, the integration runs a register lookup.
- 3.Data population: if a matching record is found, the available data fields are updated in HubSpot under the verifier property group.
- 4.Continuous updates: update the number manually, or configure HubSpot workflows to refresh the data as needed.
Requirements
- The verifier properties must exist on any object that will use the integration.
- If a property is missing, the integration may not function correctly.
- Only valid ABNs or NZBNs return results - invalid or non-existent numbers will not populate the additional fields.
